Things to do in Ventura CA
Ventura, which is located between Santa Clara River and Ventura River, is also at the base of Mount Pinos, so it is completely fair to say that here you would basically be surrounded by beautiful nature. Moreover, Ventura is also situated beside the Channel Islands, and also has a relaxing beach feel that makes it the best spot to soak in some sun, sand and sea. Ventura offers an extensive range of activities to do, thanks to its incredible surroundings. So if you’re looking to have the experience to remember for life, pack your bags!
Let’s have a look at the list of some of the best things to do in Ventura.
Mission San Buenaventura
In 1749, a Franciscan priest established the San Buenaventura Mission in an effort to convert the local Chumash people to Catholicism. The mission has seen earthquakes, floods, and even attacks by marauding pirates, but to this day it still stands strong and is in working condition with frequently held masses here.
Ventura’s Botanical Gardens
The Ventura Botanical Gardens, opened in the year 2012, are the ideal way to connect with nature. Along with 160 plus species of plants, the botanical gardens also have the Demonstration Trail, which is a mile-long walkway that allows the travellers to take in scenic views of mountains, vineyards and farmland.
Museum of Ventura County
In the Historical Artifacts and Fine Arts collection alone, there are more than 30,000 pieces along with items that date back to most of Ventura’s oldest inhabitants. Fun, isn’t it?
